1:35 FW 190 F-8 (green C, Black 2, White 34) Decal sheet

Decals for the Fw 190 F-8, scale 1:35

A decal sheet for models of the Fw 190 F-8 ground-attack aircraft in 1:35 scale. It carries the markings of three machines, which the name lists as Green C, Black 2 and White 34. This is not a kit but an accessory for one.

The real subject

The Fw 190 F is the ground-attack branch of the German Fw 190 fighter aircraft. It came about by modifying the fighter version for attacks on ground targets: the machine was given strengthened attachments for bombs and armor on the lower part of the fuselage, while some of the wing armament was removed instead, so that the weight stayed within a reasonable limit. The power plant stayed the same as on the fighters of the A series, that is an air-cooled two-row fourteen-cylinder radial, to which the aircraft owes its characteristically massive and short nose. The F-8 version is among the most widespread.

How the sheet is applied

• Cut the element out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it starts to release from the paper.
• The base has to be smooth and glossy, otherwise a silvery haze will appear under the film.
• Slide the decal into place with a soft brush and soak the surplus water up with a cloth.
• Over rivets and pressings a softener will help the film draw itself onto the surface.
• Finally varnish the area, so that the edges of the carrier film disappear.

Who the sheet is for

For builders of German aviation equipment who want a model in a particular rendition and are not satisfied with the markings from the box. The 1:35 scale is less usual with aircraft, so you will use the sheet only where you build in this size; compare the size of the elements with the parts of your kit beforehand, therefore. The maker states the extent of the markings and their placement in the enclosed instructions.

The package holds the decals only. A model, paints, varnish and a softener are not included, unless stated otherwise.
