MASTER 1:700 British 4.5 in QF is a set of turned metal barrels for a dual-purpose gun, for models of the British ships Ark Royal, Illustrious and Renown.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely turned metal barrels from MASTER in 1:700 scale. It is not a ship model but an accessory that replaces the plastic barrels of the British 4.5 in (11.4 cm) dual-purpose gun in its Mark I, III and IV versions with fine metal parts. The package holds 18 barrels and is intended among other things for models of HMS Ark Royal, Illustrious and Renown.
The British 4.5 in (11.4 cm) QF gun served as dual-purpose armament, against aircraft and against surface targets alike, on a range of Royal Navy ships of the Second World War, aircraft carriers and battlecruisers included. Its barrels are a striking element of the silhouette of those vessels.
The metal barrels go in place of the plastic parts of the kit. In 1:700 scale it pays to work with tweezers, to glue with cyanoacrylate and to degrease the parts before painting. The metal bores look truer and do not warp.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
