A precise set of turned metal barrels in 1:700 scale from the Polish maker MASTER. It is not a model of a ship but an accessory for raising the fidelity of a kit. The package holds twenty barrels of the Japanese 14 cm naval gun of the 3rd Year Type, made with canvas blast bags indicated for fitting into gun turrets. The metal barrels replace the coarser plastic parts and give the armament a crisp, scale-faithful look.
The 14 cm (140 mm) gun of the 3rd Year Type was the standard medium artillery of the Imperial Japanese Navy, used above all on light cruisers and as the secondary armament of larger ships. It spread from the 1920s onward and served throughout the Second World War.
Separate the individual barrels with a fine cut, degrease the metal and give it a primer. Before painting, check that they sit square in the turrets. The blast bags at the root of the barrel can be set apart in a lighter shade of canvas, and the muzzles brought up with a fine dark wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
