1:700 RA-5C VIGILANTE

Trumpeter 1:700 RA-5C Vigilante - a set of carrier aircraft

A set of small plastic models of the American supersonic carrier-based reconnaissance aircraft RA-5C Vigilante in 1:700 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. The package contains several pieces of aircraft on shared sprues, intended for completing the deck of a model of a modern aircraft carrier or for a naval diorama in the same scale. The models are miniature and simple to build, with a decal sheet with American naval markings.

The real subject

The North American RA-5C Vigilante was a large supersonic carrier aircraft with striking aerodynamics. It originally came about as a carrier-based strike bomber, but it made its name mainly in the role of fast tactical reconnaissance - it carried extensive sensor equipment and was among the fastest and most elegant machines ever to operate from American aircraft carriers. It was deployed above all in the 1960s and 1970s.

Building and painting tips

Clean the small parts of flash carefully and glue them with feeling. Because of the size, a basic coat sprayed with an airbrush, a fine highlighting of the panels and discreet decals are enough. Unify the color scheme of all the pieces so that the deck looks consistent.

Who the model is for

• For builders of models of modern aircraft carriers in 1:700 scale.
• For makers of naval dioramas from the Cold War period.
• For collectors who want to fill a deck with several aircraft.
• For lovers of carrier aviation history.

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
