A set of resin landing gear wheels for Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat models in 1:48 scale. It contains the main wheels and the tail wheel in the early version. The resin castings have an accurate tire tread and a fine relief on the hub that injection-molded plastic usually cannot capture so sharply.
The F4F-3 Wildcat was an early carrier fighter of the US Navy from the start of the war in the Pacific. The pattern of the wheels and the hubs changed during production, which is why an early and a late version are distinguished. This set matches the early type.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent in lukewarm soapy water, separate the casting blocks and glue them with super glue. If the set contains a tread stamp, the tire can be flattened by lightly sanding it at the contact point, suggesting the load. Paint the hubs and the tires separately and bring them out with a wash.
This is a detail accessory, not a stand-alone model. Paints, glue and the basic kit are not included in the package.
