A set of small Douglas TBD-1 Devastator carrier aircraft in 1:700 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. The package contains several injection-molded plastic airplanes and serves for populating models of aircraft carriers and for building dioramas. This is not one large model, but a set of miniature aircraft.
The Douglas TBD-1 Devastator was an American carrier-based torpedo bomber deployed in the Pacific at the beginning of the Second World War. At the time it came about it was among the modern carrier machines, but later types outclassed it. On models of aircraft carriers in 1:700 scale it completes a period-faithful deck group.
Separate the small parts from the sprue gates carefully with a sharp knife. Given their size, gluing with super glue and painting with an airbrush or with a fine-tipped brush work well. The markings can be suggested with decals or with small color details.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
