The real subject

The leFH18 was the standard light field howitzer of the German army in the Second World War. The 10.5 cm caliber gave a good balance between destructive power and mobility; the weapon served on every front and became the backbone of German light artillery. Vehicles and horse teams brought it up to the firing positions.

Building and painting tips

Thanks to the smaller number of parts the build is quick. Clean up the mold parting lines and paint the barrel and the carriage before final assembly. Primer improves paint adhesion, and dark washes bring out the rivets and details. Dust pigments on the wheels and the carriage give the howitzer a campaign look.
