A themed waterslide decal sheet in 1:72 scale devoted to the history of the British No. 617 Squadron, nicknamed the Dambusters. The set covers the markings of this unit's machines over a wide span of time and suits several of the aircraft types the squadron operated during its existence. The printing is sharp, with accurate register and a thin carrier film.
No. 617 Squadron of the RAF entered history with the raid on the German dams in 1943 (Operation Chastise), in which it used Avro Lancaster bombers with a special rotating bomb. In the following decades the unit flew other types and kept its reputation as an elite squadron. The sheet therefore brings together markings from the Second World War up to modern service.
Coat the base under the decal with gloss varnish to prevent silvering. Let the decal soften in lukewarm water, slide it into place and press it down. Decal softeners help with larger insignia and stripes. A final matte or satin varnish unifies all the markings.
