A resin set of antennas for the American piston-engined A-1 Skyraider attack aircraft in 1:72 scale from Quickboost. It is not an airplane model but an exact replacement part for more experienced modelers that will replace the coarsely cast or missing antennas from the kit with delicate and faithfully shaped castings. Small antennas are among the items that never look fine enough in plastic, so a resin replacement noticeably lifts the impression a finished model makes.
The A-1 Skyraider was a sturdy single-engine attack aircraft with a radial engine that became famous for its long service with the US Navy and the US Air Force in Korea and in Vietnam. It carried a number of antennas and sensors that are clearly visible on a model. The set is meant to refine an existing Skyraider model in the same scale.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue from the mold. Cut off the casting blocks with a sharp knife or a fine saw and clean up the faces; protect your airways while sanding resin. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) — ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Fit the fragile antennas at the very end of the build so that they do not get damaged while you handle the model.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
