An injection-molded plastic kit of the American twin-engine attack and light bomber Douglas A-26B Invader in 1:72 scale from Italeri. The B version is marked by its solid (unglazed) nose with concentrated gun armament — unlike the glazed nose of the bombing version. The basic injection mold comes from the Czech maker MPM and Italeri releases it under its own brand. According to the available information the box contains parts for both canopy versions (the early type and the later clamshell). The Douglas A-26 Invader was an American twin-engine attack aircraft with an exceptionally long service career — it reached the front at the end of the Second World War in 1944 and later served in the Korean War and in the conflicts in Indochina and Vietnam. The most widely used was precisely the B version with the solid attack nose, in which heavy armament consisting of a battery of .50 caliber Browning machine guns was concentrated. It was powered by two powerful radial engines and the machine was renowned for its speed and its bomb load.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue clean joints with liquid cement for plastic. With a twin-engine layout, take care over the correct seating of the engine nacelles and the alignment of the wing. Glue the glazing and the canopy carefully with canopy cement. Apply a primer before painting, ideally with an airbrush. US Army and USAF aircraft wore either bare metal surfaces or olive drab camouflage — pick out metal surfaces with metallizers, add a fine wash to the panel lines and add restrained service wear.
