A masking set from kabuki tape in 1:72 scale for spraying camouflage on models of the A-4B, A-4C, A-4E and A-4F Skyhawk.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-4 Skyhawk was an American carrier attack aircraft, remarkably small and light for its day. Exactly thanks to its dimensions it did without folding wings and fitted onto the deck elevators, which earned it a long service and development in a number of configurations. The B, C, E and F versions, which this set covers according to the name, belong among its earlier and middle batches.
A camouflage scheme with sharp transitions is sprayed through a mask, and cutting one out yourself means hours of fine work with an uncertain end, especially in 1:72 scale, where the boundaries are counted in millimeters. Ready-made masks from kabuki tape have a shape corresponding to the subject, they seat well even on a rounded area and once taken off they leave no adhesive residue on the paint. Verify it, therefore, in the instructions from the manufacturer.
The masks are applied onto a perfectly dry lower layer of paint, that is before the next shade is sprayed, not after it. The surface should be clean and degreased. Press the edges of the mask down properly, otherwise the paint will be blown under them, and spray in thin coats at a right angle to the surface, not at an angle under the margin. Take the mask off while the paint is freshly dry, and do so slowly and at a shallow angle to the surface.
What is supplied is the masking set. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
