It is a modern mold with finely engraved panel lines and a well-worked-out cockpit interior. The kit offers the wings optionally folded or spread and the landing flaps and leading-edge slats either extended or retracted, so you can display the model in a state that matches the deck of an aircraft carrier.
The A-6 Intruder was a two-seat carrier-based attack aircraft able to operate in all weather and at night. The crew consisted of a pilot and a bombardier-navigator seated side by side. Thanks to its powerful avionics and large bomb load it served as the main strike aircraft of the US Navy for decades. The A-6A version was the first production variant to be committed to combat.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic; mask the clear canopy parts before painting. Paint and shade the cockpit interior before closing it up. Apply primer before painting; the typical gray-and-white Navy schemes benefit from subtle panel emphasis and restrained weathering. Decide in advance whether you want the wings folded or spread.
