A plastic kit of the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero carrier fighter in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mitsubishi A6M, known as the Zero, was a Japanese carrier fighter of the Second World War. It was famous for two qualities: exceptional agility and an unusually long range, which let it escort attacks far from its parent ships. Both were paid for by light construction, so the crew and the tanks lacked the protection its opponents were used to. Power came from an air-cooled fourteen-cylinder radial with a variable-pitch propeller.
The A6M3 version received a more powerful engine with a two-speed supercharger. Within this version the machines differed in the wing tip: one form had clipped, square tips, the other went back to the longer rounded wing, which gave the aircraft its range back. Which form you build follows the instructions enclosed with the kit.
From the dimensions of the real aircraft, the finished model comes out about 12.5 cm long. In this scale the order of work is the key: finish and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage, because you will not get into it later. Mask the canopy before spraying. The radial engine comes into its own if you work a dark shade into the depths between the cylinders and bring out the edges with drybrushing. Lay the paint on in several thin coats so that the fine surface detail stays visible.
Paints, glue and filler are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
