A Hauler 1:72 photo-etched detail set for the amphibious assault vehicle AAV-7A1. A metal accessory for a plastic kit, not a model of the vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
Photo-etched metal parts in 1:72 scale intended to improve the plastic kit of the amphibious assault vehicle AAV-7A1. It is neither a model nor a kit: it is an aftermarket accessory cut for one specific kit, the Dragon one. We recommend checking the exact composition of the package with the manufacturer.
The AAV-7A1 is a tracked amphibious vehicle intended to carry a landing force from a ship to the shore and to support it on land. It differs from a conventional carrier in that it has to swim: it has a tall hull with a large internal volume, water propulsion and a number of features that serve only afloat. It is precisely these details, the grilles, louvers, covers and clips, that tend to be skimped on a model in a small scale and are the main reason to reach for etch.
Separate the parts with a scalpel against a hard surface, not by breaking them out. Use a bending tool or two blades for the folds; bend longer parts gradually along their whole length, not from one end. They are glued with cyanoacrylate, which you apply with the tip of a wire to the model, not to the photo-etched part. Degrease the etch before painting and spray it with primer: on smooth metal paint does not hold without a base. A careful paneliner that accentuates the edges of the newly fitted parts and a dry pigment on the running gear are good at the end.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
