An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the maker Zvezda, capturing the heavily armed AC-130J Ghostrider gunship. It is a sizeable model rich in parts, derived from the four-engine transport Hercules; once assembled it reaches over 40 cm in length. The box contains clear parts for the extensive glazing and decals for two particular machines of American special operations.
The AC-130J Ghostrider is the newest version of the proven line of American gunships, built on the basis of the C-130J Super Hercules transport. It serves for close air support, the destruction of ground targets and armed reconnaissance. Its characteristic feature is side-firing fire: the aircraft carries heavy weapons firing from the left side of the fuselage - a rapid-fire cannon and a large-caliber gun - which fire at targets below while circling in flight. Precision guided bombs and missiles complement them.
Glue the parts with a liquid modeling cement for plastic; with a large fuselage and wing take care that the main parts are glued firmly and straight. Mask the extensive glazing of the cockpit with templates and glue it on only after the frames have been painted. Apply a primer before painting. Modern gray low-visibility camouflage schemes come out well with an airbrush and fine shading of the panels; because of the size of the model, plan the space for painting and for display in advance.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
