A masking set from MH models intended for models of the Czechoslovak Aero A-101 biplane in 1:72 scale. It makes it possible to spray the Spanish national markings straight in paint, so the insignia lie in the same layer of finish as the camouflage and no step and no glossy edge appear on the surface. The set contains masking pieces; paints, glue and the model itself are not part of it.
The Aero A-101 was a Czechoslovak single-engine biplane of the 1930s, a two-seat machine in the light bomber and reconnaissance role. It grew out of the Aero A-100 type and differed from its predecessor above all in a more powerful engine and a modified nose. Some of the machines built were exported to Spain, where they were committed during the Spanish Civil War. In design terms it is a classic mixed-construction biplane of its day - a fixed landing gear, open crew cockpits and armament in a flexible rear position.
Marking masks are stuck on only once the surface of the model is finished, dry and ideally polished. Lift the individual pieces carefully out of the sheet with the tip of a scalpel, place them in the right position according to the drawing and press the edges down carefully, so that no paint seeps under them. Cover the surrounding area with ordinary masking tape. Apply the paint in several very thin coats perpendicular to the surface rather than at an angle under the edge of the mask. With multi-color insignia you work in layers and each further mask has to be aligned exactly on the previous one. Remove the mask with tweezers shortly after the paint has dried, while the finish has not fully cured; if you have waited longer, score the outline first with the tip of a knife.
This is not a model of the aircraft and not a kit. Paints, thinner, varnish and the base model are not included in the package.
