A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Model Maker, devoted to thirty years of operation of the Aero L-39ZA Albatros in the Bulgarian Air Force. The package holds decals, not a model. Check the exact contents of the sheet, the list of machines and the number of schemes against the illustration on the packaging.
The L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer of Czechoslovak design from Aero Vodochody that became the standard school machine in many countries. The ZA version is the armed variant with pylons and gun armament added, so alongside training it also manages practice combat tasks. Recognition features of the type are its two-seat cockpit with the view through stepped canopies and the tanks at the wingtips. For a modeler the Albatros is rewarding precisely because of the variety of its national markings.
Gloss clear varnish on the places under the decals first, and plenty of time for it to cure. Cut the motif out closely to the printing, dip it in warm water for a few seconds and let it rest on a paper towel until the adhesive softens. Carry it to the model with a brush, seat it and blot the surplus water from the center toward the edges. Around the wingtip tanks and where a decal follows a curved shape, reach for a softener; the film draws down to the surface and forms no crease. Once dry, rinse the adhesive residues off with a damp cloth. Finally even the whole model out with a matte or satin varnish, according to the surface you want.
The decals are an accessory for a kit. The kit, the paints, the varnishes and the softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
