1:72 Aichi E11A Laura - masks for the national insignia from Dead Design for spraying the Japanese insignia onto a model of this rare night reconnaissance flying boat.
Responsibility details are not available.
Die-cut painting masks from the maker Dead Design for spraying the Japanese national insignia onto a model of the flying boat Aichi E11A in 1:72 scale. With a type as rare as this one the offer of replacement decals is practically nil - spraying through a mask is therefore not only of better quality but often the only way to finish a model with sharp and durable markings.
The Aichi E11A, known to the Allies as Laura, was a biplane flying boat of the Imperial Japanese Navy with a central hull and a pusher engine arrangement. It came about for night reconnaissance and for directing artillery fire: it was launched from the catapults of cruisers and sought out targets for the ships' guns in the dark. It was built in a small number of examples only, and in the later years of the war it moved to auxiliary, liaison and training duties.
The set is intended for builders of Japanese seaplanes and collectors of the less usual types, who want to achieve markings comparable to a factory-quality finish even on an exotic machine.
These are painting masks, that is an accessory to a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
