The radar-guided AIM-7E/E2 Sparrow in four pieces, 1:72. Resin stores from the brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez for fighters of the era of the fighting over Southeast Asia.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings four Sparrow missiles in the E and E-2 versions in 1:72 scale, made by the technology of 3D printing from resin. It serves to arm a finished kit of a fighter aircraft, onto which it is hung in place of the coarser parts from the box. A decal sheet with technical lettering is included.
The AIM-7 was the first Western production air-to-air missile with semi-active radar guidance: the radar of the carrier had to illuminate the target until the hit. The AIM-7E version became the main weapon of the F-4 Phantoms over Southeast Asia, where it turned out that in close maneuvering combat it failed. The answer was the AIM-7E-2 with a shortened minimum launch range and faster-reacting controls, which crews nicknamed the Dogfight Sparrow. Later this weapon was carried by Tomcats and Eagles as well.
First wash the printed parts and cut them off the print supports with a sharp scalpel, then level the cut faces with a file. Join them with cyanoacrylate glue, as ordinary cement for plastic does not work here. It pays to sand wet and with respiratory protection. Before the decals, go over the body of the missile with gloss varnish, so that the sheets settle without silvering.
Paints, glue and an aircraft are not to be found in the package.
