The Roden Albatros W.4 (early) plastic kit in 1:72 scale represents the German single-seat float fighter of the First World War period.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer Roden captures the early version of the German float fighter Albatros W.4 in 1:72 scale. The set is meant to be glued and painted; it is a typical kit of a First World War biplane with fine engraved detail and decals for several color schemes.
The Albatros W.4 came about in 1916 as the float counterpart of the Albatros D series fighters, to protect the naval bases along the Flanders coast. It was a single-seat biplane with a wooden monocoque fuselage and an inline Mercedes engine. The early version was marked out by first-pattern floats.
Separate the small parts with a sharp knife and clean them up carefully. A thin cement for plastic, a primer and spraying with an airbrush all work well. Surfaces imitating wood and fabric are characteristic, and precise bracing wires play a large part in giving the model a convincing look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
