The anti-ship AM-39 Exocet for French combat aircraft and helicopters: a pair of resin missiles in 1:72 from the brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pair of air-launched Exocets in printed resin, with decals for building a convincing anti-ship arrangement of stores. The large missile markedly changes the silhouette of a model, so it also works as the main theme of a display case.
The AM-39 is the air-launched variant of the French anti-ship missile, which after release drops toward the water and flies the last tens of kilometers only a few meters above the waves. The radar finds the target only in the closing stage of the approach, so a defender has a minimum of time to react. It earned worldwide attention in 1982 in the South Atlantic, when a pair of Argentine Super Étendards hit a British destroyer. Five years later a missile launched from an Iraqi aircraft badly damaged an American frigate. Besides the Super Étendard it was carried by the Mirage F1 and 2000, by the Rafale and by Super Puma helicopters.
Take the parts off the supports and smooth the cut surface, so that the missile seats on the pylon without a gap. Cyanoacrylate glue holds them, and with the longer piece it pays to add a wire pin. The base shade is light gray with a darker nose, and the seams only need to be suggested with a light wash. Skip heavy weathering, because ordnance hanging under a wing does not get scuffed on the deck.
The carrier and the glue are not in the package.
