This injected plastic kit by Trumpeter captures the American LaFrance Eagle fire appliance with a pump in 1:72 scale. It is a new mold with an elaborate interior and exterior, parts in hard plastic, photo-etched parts, a mask and a decal sheet. The dimensions of the finished model are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
American LaFrance is one of the best-known American makers of firefighting vehicles. The Eagle model was built on the brand's own fire chassis and became a widespread appliance with professional and volunteer services alike. The pumper version carries a water pump, hose equipment and a firefighting body.
Glue the plastic parts with a liquid modeling cement and apply a primer before painting. The striking red body is best sprayed with an airbrush and coated with a gloss varnish for a rich shade. The chrome fittings and the firefighting equipment come to life once metallic shades and a light patina are applied.
