Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Arado Ar 199 training seaplane in 1:72 scale from the production of the Czech manufacturer RS Models. It is a short-run model of the early version of the machine; the package holds parts in gray plastic, clear glazing and decal sheets for several color schemes. The early and the late version are told apart by some of the clear parts, the engine section and further components.
The Arado Ar 199 was a low-wing training seaplane designed at the end of the 1930s for training the pilots of floatplanes and catapult-launched aircraft. The enclosed cabin offered seats for the instructor and the pupil side by side and a further place at the back for training a navigator or a radio operator. The machine rested on a pair of floats and only a small number of pieces came about, serving mostly for training with the Kriegsmarine naval aviation.
With short-run molds it pays to reckon on cleaning the parts up, sanding the mold parting lines over and dry-fitting before gluing. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic, and we recommend painting the cabin and the floats before they are closed up. Fit the glazing only after spraying and varnishing; for an even surface an airbrush and a primer come in useful.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
