A photo-etched accessory set in 1:72 scale for a model of the German Arado Ar 234 jet in the C version. It adds details to the model that are too coarse in injection-molded plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Arado Ar 234 was a German jet aircraft of the end of the Second World War and the first machine of its kind put into production service. It served for reconnaissance and bombing, and its main defense was speed rather than armament. It was a single-seat high-wing aircraft with a long glazed nose through which the pilot could see straight ahead and downwards. The C version differed from the earlier twin-engine forms in that its power was split between four engines slung under the wing.
This is a photo-etched set in 1:72 scale from the group of metal accessories. In a small scale the difference between plastic and etched metal shows most, because a plastic part cannot be made thinner than roughly half a millimeter, whereas etched sheet is several times thinner. The model thus gains edges and surfaces that look genuinely thin. The composition of the parts, their placement and the kit they are made for are described in the instructions supplied with the set.
Work over a light surface with raised edges, as a tiny part in this scale will fall on the floor and never be found again. Cut the tabs through with a sharp blade, do not tear them. Use tweezers with smooth tips for holding them, as serrated tweezers leave scratches on metal. Dose cyanoacrylate glue by putting a drop on a tile and picking it up with a wire. Before painting, wash the parts, degrease them and give them a metal primer.
What is supplied is a photo-etched fret with instructions. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
