This resin set from Eduard brings finely cast machine guns for all the bomber's defensive positions for 1:72 B-17G models. It combines resin parts with photo-etched parts and offers detail that injection-molded plastic cannot manage. It is not an airplane model but an aftermarket accessory that markedly lifts the armament of a finished kit.
The Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress was a key American heavy four-engine bomber of the Second World War, famous for its strong defensive armament. Its typical mark was the row of 12.7 mm Browning machine guns distributed along the whole fuselage, including the forward chin turret. This set reproduces the barrels and the mounts for the individual gun positions.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and separate them carefully from the thin sprue gates. Bend the photo-etched parts along the engraving and bond both them and the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The barrels are fragile, so work calmly and protect your airways while sanding. Check the position of the machine guns dry beforehand.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
