The resin set from the company Eduard brings faithfully cast turbochargers for B-17G models in 1:72 scale. The resin castings capture the fine details of the turbines placed on the underside of the engine nacelles more precisely than injection-molded plastic. It is not a model of an airplane but an aftermarket accessory sharpening the power plant of a finished kit.
The Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress relied on Wright R-1820 radial engines fitted with turbochargers, which secured the performance even at the high altitudes at which the bomber operated. The turbines were visible on the underside of the engine nacelles and are a striking mark of recognition of the machine.
Wash the resin parts clean of the mold release agent and separate them from the casting blocks. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Try the position of the turbines on the nacelles dry before gluing. Protect your airways while sanding. A surface that comes across as metal stands out well after spraying a suitable metallic paint.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
