1:72 B-24H Liberator: an Eduard masking set for a model of the American heavy bomber with a nose turret in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masks from the Czech company Eduard, named as the brand is used to doing after the type of aircraft alone; the category of masks for 1:72 scale makes it unambiguous what the package is. On the four-engine Liberator an accessory like this makes exceptional sense: the bomber boasts one of the busiest sets of glazing of its era, with gun turrets, side windows and the glazed station of the bombardier, and going around it all by hand can take whole evenings.
The B-24H was the first mass-production version of the Liberator with a nose turret, which fundamentally improved its defense against head-on attacks by fighters. A large part of production came from the huge Ford plant at Willow Run, a symbol of American war manufacturing. The machines flew daylight raids over Europe in the formations of the Eighth and Fifteenth Air Force and, together with the other versions, made the Liberator the most numerously built American bomber in history.
Polish the turrets and clear parts before masking, transfer the shapes with tweezers with fine tips and work the edges in with a rounded wooden stick. Spray with thin paint in misted layers, with particular care on the curved turrets, and remove the masking as soon as the last layer goes tacky.
