White Aluminium is a light silvery gray from Hataka, from the Orange Line range, the manufacturer's part number HTK-C190. The designation RAL 9006 refers to the German standard of shades, in which every tone has a four-digit number. The opening nine places the item in the group of white and black tones, and the name White Aluminium belongs to that number directly; it is not a trade name of the range.
Light grays of this kind suit everywhere a surface is to look metallic without being glossy: skins, covers, equipment, industrial and transport vehicles. On a model it also works well as a light base under darker coats, because engraved detail stays clearly legible under it. The number from the standard is a more reliable guide than the name of a shade, because the same name carries a differently saturated tone in different ranges; by the number the shade can be compared with other ranges that refer to the same standard.
Stir the pot thoroughly before use, as with light shades the pigment settles markedly. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the package, that is the thinner intended for this range. Apply several thin coats and let the surface dry between them; a single heavy coat fills the detail and takes considerably longer to dry. Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand, as light shades give away imperfect preparation more than dark ones.
