Eduard 1:72 B5N2 Kate masks is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set of kabuki tape for masking the long cockpit glazing on a model of the Japanese carrier torpedo bomber. This is not a model but an accessory for painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks of fine Japanese kabuki tape. It is not a kit and not a model but an accessory for cleanly masking the long cockpit glazing and the wheels while spraying paint. The scale of the set is 1:72.
The masks are stuck onto the frames of the glazed crew cockpit and onto the wheel rims. After spraying, the glass stays clear and the tires stay free of paint. Kabuki tape adapts to the shapes of the frames, holds tightly and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. On an aircraft with a long glazed cockpit the set saves a great deal of time compared with cutting by hand. The pre-cut shapes also make sure the frames stay straight and even along the whole length of the glazing.
The Nakajima B5N2 Kate was a Japanese carrier torpedo and level bomber of the Second World War. It served with the Japanese imperial navy and played a significant part in the attacks in the Pacific. The B5N2 version received a more powerful engine.
The set contains only the die-cut self-adhesive masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
