A set of replacement wheels with sagging tires in 1:72 scale for a model of the British BAC TSR-2 aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The BAC TSR-2 is a British combat aircraft of the first half of the sixties, which stayed at the prototype stage and never got into line service. All the more attention modelers pay to it, and all the more every detail of the landing gear is seen on a build. The wheels are the only part of an aircraft that touches the ground, and so the eye judges them first: if a model stands on perfectly round tires, it looks as if it were floating.
This is a set of replacement wheels in 1:72 scale, that is an accessory with which the parts from the kit are replaced. The tires have a sag indicated, that is a flattening at the point where they settle on the ground, so that once they are fitted the model stands as if it were carrying a weight of its own. How many pieces the package holds and which kit the set is drawn for are given in the enclosed manufacturer's instructions.
The flattened part of the tire has to face down toward the ground and settle on its whole area, otherwise the wheel looks damaged. So fit the wheel dry, stand the model on a flat board and only in this position let the glue harden. The parts are not made of polystyrene, they are glued with super glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down so as not to disturb the circumference. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting. The hubs and the tires are painted separately; a sharp transition between them will do more for a model than the shade itself.
A set of wheels is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
