1:72 BAe Hawks in Black is an Xtradecal decal sheet with markings for Hawk jet trainers in the black finish.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:72 scale intended for models of the British Hawk jet trainer in the all-black form. It is not a kit but an accessory with which you give a model markings other than those the box offers. The sheet covers the machines given by the manufacturer on the packaging, so compare it with what you want to build before buying.
The Hawk is a two-seat trainer and light combat aircraft with seats arranged in tandem and a turbofan engine. It first flew in the mid-1970s and became the basic advanced trainer of the Royal Air Force and of a number of foreign users. The type came about at Hawker Siddeley and, after the amalgamation of the British aircraft industry, was built under the British Aerospace name. The black finish replaced the earlier red and white scheme on British trainers and is characteristic of the later career of the type.
A saturated black base is the most demanding setting for decals that you can meet. Light printed colors lose their saturation on it, and it is therefore sensible to try one less conspicuous decal on a hidden area first. If a marking shows through, it helps to lay a second copy of the same decal underneath it or a small white backing patch. A black area will also show every edge of carrier film without mercy, so trim the film as closely as possible and, once it is dry, unify the surface with an all-over varnish.
This is a decal sheet, that is an accessory. The kit, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
