This resin set from Eduard is not a model in its own right but a detail accessory. It replaces the plastic ejection seat from the box with a faithful cast copy with sharply rendered harness, handles and frame, of a kind that usually cannot be made on injection-molded parts. It is meant for models of the MiG-19 jet fighter in 1:48 scale.
The seat is the most conspicuous element of an open cockpit, which is why improving it pays off. The resin replacement adds depth and accuracy of detail, which bring the pilot's space under the glazing to life. The box usually offers an alternative headrest as well, so that the look can be matched to a particular version of the aircraft.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, to remove the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw or a knife and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); before painting, a primer coat that resin holds well is worth applying.
This is an add-on set, not an aircraft model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
