This resin detail set holds faithfully rendered exhaust nozzles of the English Electric (BAE) Lightning interceptor in the F.2 and F.6 versions in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory for the kit that replaces the simplified plastic nozzles and adds fine texture to the interior. It is not a stand-alone model of the aircraft.
The Lightning is a British interceptor of the Cold War period with the unusual arrangement of two engines one above the other. The F.2 and F.6 versions were among the service standards of the Royal Air Force. It is precisely the pair of exhaust nozzles one above the other that is highly characteristic of this type, and base kits handle it in a simplified way.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces down with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The nozzles come into their own once they are painted in metallic shades and the thermally loaded areas are picked out lightly.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin accessory for the kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
