Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German turretless Bergeschlepper 731(f) recovery and towing vehicle in 1:72 scale from RPM. The vehicle was created by converting a captured French Renault R-35 light tank. The model is unassembled and unpainted; the package contains plastic sprues and a decal, and the box states the exact parts breakdown.
After the defeat of France in 1940 a large number of Renault R-35 tanks fell into German hands. The Germans removed the turret from many of them and used them as artillery and ammunition tractors as well as recovery vehicles. The designation 731(f) refers to the French origin of the chassis. A shield with an MG 34 machine gun was fitted over the turret ring opening for the crew's own defense. These vehicles served on the Eastern Front in 1941, among other places.
In this small scale take care to glue the running gear and the individual track links cleanly before you close up the hull. The open space left by the turret, with its shield and machine gun, is on show, so clean it up carefully. The base is German gray or dark yellow depending on the period; a wash in the gaps and fine dust pigments on the running gear add depth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
