Replacement cockpit fittings for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 and E-4 in 1:72 scale. It replaces the cockpit interior from the original kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
At the start of the Second World War the Bf 109E was one of the main German single-seat fighters. Its cockpit is narrow, the pilot sits tightly between the side walls, and with the canopy swung open practically the whole interior is in view. The E-3 and E-4 versions stand close to one another in design, so the set covers both.
The set replaces the cockpit interior from the original kit with separate parts of finer shape and with more three-dimensional relief than injection-molded plastic can give in this scale. It is seated into the fuselage before the halves are glued together, so count on it right at the start of the build and dry-fit the seating into one fuselage half beforehand.
Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. The fuselage walls usually need thinning from the inside so that the insert goes in and the two halves meet without a gap. Choose the shade of the cockpit interior according to the documentation for your version. Small instruments and levers stand out when you lay a dark glaze over the painted interior and then go over the edges with a dry brush in a lighter shade.
The set is for modelers who want the cockpit open and are not content with the bare tub from the kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
