An injection-molded plastic model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-14 fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. The G-14 is one of the late versions of the Gustav series and in this particular form it is a late stage of development of the famous Luftwaffe fighter from the last year of the war.
The Bf 109G-14 came about in the summer of 1944 as an attempt to standardize the many field and production modifications that had until then been introduced unevenly on the G-6 version. The result was a settled production form with a Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine complemented by the MW 50 system of short-term power boost. Most machines received as standard a glazed sliding canopy with better visibility (the Erla-Haube) and a tall vertical tail. The armament consisted of an MG 151/20 engine cannon firing through the propeller hub and a pair of 13 mm MG 131 machine guns above the engine, whose breeches created the characteristic covers (bulges) on the nose. The G-14 was among the fighters deployed in the defensive battles over the Reich.
Glue the plastic parts with a liquid model cement for plastic and fill and sand the joints if needed. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting, lay the paints down with an airbrush in thin coats and mask the camouflage transitions. On late Gustavs the mosaic finishes of the fuselage and intricate patches are typical, so it pays to spray them with masking and fine-tune them by shading the panels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
