The 1:72 Bf 109G position lights accessory from Quickboost replaces the position lights on a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G in 1:72 scale with more exact cast parts. It is not a kit but a small set for raising the fidelity of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
In 1:72 scale the position lights on a kit tend to be only suggested by raised plastic, which moreover is usually the first thing destroyed when sanding seams. This set from Quickboost replaces them with separate castings of an exact shape. The work is short but the effect unmistakable, because it is a touch of color on the otherwise uniformly colored wingtips and on the vertical tail. The package holds the lights alone; the model of the airplane has to be your own.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 of the G series, known by the nickname Gustav, formed the backbone of the German fighter armament from 1942 and came about in many sub-versions differing in armament, equipment and the shape of the cockpit canopy. According to the practice of the period it had position lights on the wingtips, that is red on the left and green on the right side, and white at the rear. It is a small thing that a modeler often deals with only at the end of a build, and yet it is precisely this that catches the attention on a finished machine.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap. Sand the original plastic bumps on the wing carefully down flat and clean the recess for the new part. The parts are small, so work over a surface and use tweezers; when cutting them off the casting block it is advisable to support the casting with a finger so that it does not fly away. Glue with super glue in a minimal amount. The painting can be managed with transparent shades over a silver or white base, which gives a light depth, and finally cover it with a gloss varnish so that the part looks like glass.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
