The 1:72 BM-30 Smerch set from Quinta Studio brings a three-dimensionally printed color interior for the rocket launcher on decal paper.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of three-dimensionally printed, pre-colored interior on decal paper in 1:72 scale, made for a model of the Soviet and Russian BM-30 Smerch rocket launcher. It is neither a vehicle kit nor a photo-etched set: these are three-dimensionally shaped elements on a decal carrier that transfer into the cab much like decals and bring color and texture at once. The set is cut for the Zvezda kit; the same brand runs parallel versions of the same interior for other kits, which is why the intended kit matters.
The BM-30 Smerch is a heavy large-caliber rocket launcher on the chassis of an all-wheel-drive off-road truck. It appeared in the 1980s and was designed for area fire at long range, which put it ahead of the earlier Soviet rocket systems. It is deployed in groups of several launch vehicles accompanied by reload trucks. The crew cab sits low ahead of the bed with its launch tubes, and with the doors open you can see into it.
The procedure is the same as with decals: cut the part out, dip it briefly in lukewarm water, let it release from the carrier and transfer it into place. Level the surface beforehand and unify it with a dark shade so the elements tie into the whole. Settle them with a soft brush and blot the excess water instead of wiping it. In 1:72 scale the parts are very small, so concentrate on calm work and good lighting. A decal softener or setting solution does not belong here, as it would attack the printed resin of the elements.
