A plastic kit of the Soviet BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle in the modernized P form, in 1:72 scale from S-model. The designation in the name states that the kit is supplied as two models to a package, which is the usual format for this brand and suits anyone who builds vehicles by the platoon or for larger scenes. The 1:72 scale makes it possible to build a whole swarm of vehicles in the space a single vehicle would take up in 1:35.
The BMP-1 was the first series-built infantry fighting vehicle in the world, combining an armored personnel carrier with its own firepower and the ability for the crew to fire from inside. In the turret it carries a low-pressure 73 mm gun with a coaxial machine gun, and in the basic form also a first-generation anti-tank guided missile mounted on a rail above the gun. The P modernization brought a fundamental change to exactly this armament: instead of the old rail the vehicle received a launcher for newer anti-tank guided missiles, operated from under cover, and smoke grenade launchers were added at the rear of the turret. The vehicle was built in enormous numbers and served for decades in many countries.
First finish the running gear and the lower hull, and only then the upper part and the turret. The parts in 1:72 are small, so separate them with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic applied along the edge of the joint. Lay the base down with primer, spray the main shade with an airbrush and differentiate the surfaces with a lighter cast in the middle of the panels, so that the vehicle does not look flat. Gloss varnish is followed by the decals, then a wash into the recesses and fine accentuation of the edges. Finish the dust and mud on the suspension and around the tracks with pigments. The pair of vehicles in the package gives room to build them in different states of wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
