A wheel of cheese in 1:72 scale is a small scenic prop for dioramas: a standalone object of a scene, not a kit and not a part for a model.

Food is among the props that turn up least often in dioramas, and that is exactly why it is so effective. A wheel of cheese on a table, on a shop counter or in a figure's hand moves a scene from equipment toward life and tells the viewer at once what the scene is about. In 1:72 scale it is a very small standalone object of a scene, not a kit and not a part for another model.
It works best in interiors: in a kitchen, a pantry, a market, a tavern or a field rear area. It also comes into its own in rural scenes on a wagon, a handcart or in a basket. Combined with other small things such as crockery, crates and bottles, it creates a still life that gives a scene depth.
Wash the part in lukewarm water with detergent and let it dry, and clean up any remnants of manufacture gently. Painting is simple and quick: a warm cream to deep yellow base, a slightly darker shade on the rind and a fine wash that brings out the transition between the rind and the cut. A flat varnish at the end emphasizes that this is food and not a stone, as a sheen here would look false. If the part has a cut face, leave it lighter than the rind. Choose the glue according to the material of the part.
Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
