A sheet of water-slide decals in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Kits-World. According to the name it is intended for models of the Boeing B-17 bomber in versions F and G, so it can be used on both guises of the Flying Fortress. This is not a kit but a printed accessory for finishing a completed model.
Versions F and G represent two consecutive phases in the development of the same four-engine bomber. Version F has a one-piece glazed nose without cross framing; with version G a twin-barrel station was added under the nose, which was to cover the head-on sector. Both versions flew over Europe side by side and in modeling practice they tend to be built as a comparative pair, because they differ mainly in the area of the nose and the defensive positions.
On the fuselage of a bomber you will come across transitions between flat skin and glazing or bulged fairings. A decal will not adhere across such transitions by itself. Let an evened-out film dry lightly, then saturate it with softener and press it carefully into the edge with the tip of a soft brush. On markedly bulged places it helps to nick the film gently with a sharp blade along a panel line at the point of greatest tension, so that it lays down without a fold. Covering glazing with a decal is not advisable; rather trim it at the edge of the frame.
The package contains decals only. The model, paints and the chemistry for application are not part of it.
