The CRJ-700 grew out of the successful line of regional jets derived from the Challenger business aircraft. Compared with the earlier versions it received a lengthened fuselage for about seventy passengers, a new wing with a higher load capacity and more powerful engines, so it handles longer routes and more demanding airports. The layout stayed characteristic, with the engines on the sides of the rear fuselage and the horizontal tail high on the fin. The type became the backbone of European and North American regional traffic: in Germany it was operated by the regional division of Lufthansa, and in France it was one of the mainstays of the fleet of Brit Air, which flew for the large national carrier.
A large airliner model lives and dies by a smooth surface. Fill the fuselage joints, sand them and keep checking them with a sprayed filler primer until they disappear. Apply light paint in thin coats so that the fine panel structure does not vanish. The extensive decals of major carriers settle better onto gloss varnish and with the help of decal softener; work in sections and press the excess water out with a soft cloth. You can sand the main landing gear wheels slightly flat so that the model looks loaded, and glue the clear parts with a cement intended for clear plastic.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
