A British four-gallon fuel can in 1:72 scale. An accessory for vehicles and dioramas, for vehicle loads and for figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
During the Second World War British units carried fuel among other things in sheet metal cans of four gallons, that is roughly 18 liters. The cans were thin-walled, tore easily and a great deal of fuel leaked out of them in transit; only the sturdier jerrycans of the later pattern did away with that problem. In period photographs they appear on fenders, on truck beds and in stacked piles at supply points.
This is an accessory for models in 1:72 scale, that is a separate item with no vehicle. The load is what brings a vehicle to life in a diorama: an empty bed reads as a display piece, whereas a bed with cans and crates looks as if it is going somewhere. How many pieces the package contains is given in the manufacturer's instructions or in the illustration on the packaging.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder flat. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts as given in the manufacturer's instructions; wash and degrease the surface before painting.
The accessory suits the modeler who builds a scene around a vehicle, not just the vehicle itself. Worn edges and mismatched finishes on the individual cans read more credibly than a regular row of identically painted ones. The vehicle, figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
