Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the British version of the famous Bofors anti-aircraft gun of 40 mm caliber (the Mk.I/2 form) in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The set belongs to the Art of Tactic game system: the parts are snap-fit and besides the gun itself the box holds figures of the crew. The model suits a display case as well as tabletop wargames.
The Bofors 40 mm gun was designed by the Swedish company AB Bofors and became one of the most widespread anti-aircraft weapons of the Second World War: it was used by the Allied armies and by other countries all over the world. The quick-firing automatic could put out dozens of rounds a minute and was an effective defense against low-flying aircraft. The British ground version on a four-wheeled transport carriage (Mk.I/2) was folded out onto a cruciform base in the firing position and was worked by a crew of several men.
Even though the set is snap-fit, it is better to secure the joints with a drop of liquid cement for plastic. Paint the barrel, the carriage and the transport wheels before the final assembly. British equipment suits a base coat sprayed with an airbrush, light edge highlighting with drybrushing, washes into the recesses and pigments for dust around the firing position. The crew figures give the gun scale and bring the scene to life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
