A finished model of the German Sturmpanzer IV armored assault vehicle, known by the nickname Brummbär, in the mid production batch standard and in the markings of unit 216 of 1943. The scale is 1:72. The model is assembled, painted and marked by the maker; it is not a kit, so you need no glue, filler, primer or airbrush.
The Sturmpanzer IV was built on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw. IV medium tank, on which a tall armored superstructure with a short large-caliber howitzer in an embrasure in the front wall was placed instead of a turret. The design followed a single technical aim: to bring fire support of sufficient weight right up to the infantry, that is to fire from short range with direct aimed fire against fortified targets. Heavy frontal armor matched that, as did the limited traverse of the weapon, because it was set into the superstructure and not into a rotating turret. The vehicle was built in several production batches, which differ in the shape of the superstructure, the arrangement of the embrasure and details of the equipment; the model captures the middle one of them.
The tall angular superstructure makes the Brummbär an unmissable piece in a display case; in 1:72 scale its robust silhouette stands out even beside ordinary tanks of the same era. A finished standard means the colors and the markings are set in production and match the other examples of the range, so a collection keeps a unified look. Display the model out of direct sun, remove the dust with a dry soft brush and, when moving it, hold it by the hull rather than by the barrel.
The model is supplied finished: assembled and painted. Nothing is glued or painted, and no glue or paints are needed.
