The 1:72 scale is popular with collectors who want a larger collection of vehicles in a reasonable amount of space. Look for the number of parts, the contents of the package and the markings offered in the manufacturer's instructions.
The BTR-4 is a Ukrainian armored personnel carrier with an 8x8 layout that differs from the older Soviet carriers mainly in the arrangement of the hull. The engine is mounted amidships and the troops dismount through the rear, which shortens the time it takes to get out and increases the protection of the soldiers as they leave the vehicle. The version marked with the letter E is the main production variant. The armament is carried by a separate combat module with an autocannon supplemented by a machine gun, a grenade launcher and a launcher for antitank guided missiles. The exact composition of the module differs between production batches.
In 1:72 scale, clean work decides everything. Cut the parts off with sprue cutters and sand the sprue-gate remains, because in this scale every lug stands out. Paint the wheels separately and fit them only after the finish on the hull is complete. Modern vehicles usually carry uniform or faintly mottled camouflage, so it is a good idea to shade the surfaces and bring out the edges. Apply the dust sparingly, most of it on the wheels and the lower edges of the hull, and leave the decks fairly clean. It pays to fit thin antennas and handles right at the very end so that they do not snap.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
