A resin detail set, not an airplane kit. The set holds wheels of finely cast resin for the American Douglas C-47 Skytrain twin-engine transport aircraft in 1:72 scale, together with paint masks for spraying the tires and hubs. The resin wheels replace the simplified plastic parts with a faithful tire tread and clean definition of the hub. The set is meant for more advanced modelers with experience of resin.
The wheels are permanently in view on a finished model, and both their shape and the color separation of tire from hub strongly affect the overall impression. On a large transport aircraft the casting also faithfully captures the slight flattening where the loaded tire meets the ground, so the aircraft looks as if it really were standing on it. The enclosed masks make a clean spray job on the hub easier, with no laborious touching up.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
