Masking stencils for a model of the Italian floatplane CANT Z.506 Airone in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The CANT Z.506 Airone is an Italian three-engine floatplane of the thirties whose name means heron in Italian. It came about as a transport and mail aircraft and from there passed into military service, where it was used for reconnaissance over the sea and for bombing. It lasted longest in the search and rescue role, which it filled even after the war. The fuselage carries a pair of large floats on struts, and the cabin is glazed with a row of small windows separated by closely spaced frames.
Masking stencils for a model of the CANT Z.506 in 1:72 scale. They are cut to the shape of the individual panes of the glazing, so there is no cutting of strips of tape and no guessing at the shape of the frames. On this aircraft in particular it shows: there are many windows, and masking by hand would take more time than the whole of the rest of the build. The extent of the set and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
First clean and degrease the surface. Stick the stencils onto the clear part before spraying, never onto finished paint, and press the edges down carefully so that paint does not run under them. Apply the paint in several thin coats; a thick coat creates a ridge at the edge of the mask that stays visible even after it is lifted off. Lift the stencils off shortly after the paint has dried; after a longer time they come away less easily. Wipe any adhesive residue off with a soft cloth.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
