A base with the motif of the ruin of a cathedral in 1:72 scale, prepared as a diorama backdrop or a base for a display case.
Responsibility details are not available.
A church shot to pieces is one of the strongest images of war in a city. The tall masonry and the pointed arches give a scene a height a flat baseplate will never gain, and supply the hardware beneath them with a sense of scale. The base carries the motif of the ruin of a cathedral and is executed in 1:72 scale.
It will serve as a free-standing scene, as a section of a larger city diorama and as a base on which a single model stands out. In a small scale a modest area will do, so the finished work fits into an ordinary display case. Try the arrangement of the models and the figures out dry and look for the view from which the ruin frames the main model.
Wash and degrease the surface, cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the traces of manufacture down. Stone looks lively when you divide the base shade into lighter and darker areas and lighten the edges with a dry brush. Darken the joints and the deep places with a liquid weathering product, add a greenish cast of damp to the north walls and dust and rubble from pigments at the foot of the masonry. The particular procedure for preparation is given by the manufacturer's instructions.
It suits modelers who want to give a scene a pronounced architectural item without building a house themselves. Unless stated otherwise, do not reckon with the package holding models, figures, paints or glue.
