Responsibility details are not available.
A complete resin kit of the French Caudron C.450 racing aircraft. The Hungarian maker SBS Model gives the series of famous racing Caudrons exceptional care - the fine castings faithfully capture the aerodynamically polished shapes of the real machine. The kit is intended for experienced modelers.
The Caudron C.450 belonged to the family of racing specials by the designer Marcel Riffard, built for the prestigious French speed trophy, the Coupe Deutsch de la Meurthe, in 1934. It was a miniature low-wing monoplane of wooden construction with a perfectly faired inverted inline Renault engine and fixed, aerodynamically faired landing gear - which is how it differed from its sister C.460 with retractable gear. Despite the small power of the engine, the refined aerodynamics of these machines achieved speeds that brought them a string of racing successes and record performances in the mid-1930s.
Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surface with respiratory protection; use super glue (cyanoacrylate) for gluing. The racing Caudrons flew in the elegant blue finish of French sporting machines - a smooth gloss surface is essential here, and careful filling of the joints, fine sanding and a final gloss coat on which the race numbers will stand out all pay off.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted, cast in resin. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
